September 2009 PAM’S CORNER FOR POSITIVE THINKING (Executive Director) Assisted by Mildred Minor The past several months have been exciting and inspiring. Many at On Our Own of Montgomery County have been busy. I was thrilled to have Betty Leckey, Robert Burks, Mildred Minor and myself attend the workshop on “WELLNESS – Body, Mind & Spirit.” We left the workshop with a plan to implement the information right away, incorporating viewpoints from the members and staff. So, on July 25th at our monthly membership meeting we had our first installment of wellness workshops. We got some great ideas and a new sense of direction. Our Summer Conference was attended by many from our center, some for the first time. The conference was informative, educational and supportive as always. Lots of credit and thanks to all who made everything come together. The evening’s events were great. The dance was enjoyed by all. We were able to be entertained, be relaxed, laugh, and see our co-workers, employees, the directors and others take a deep breath and exhale in an atmosphere of fun.
